Our Weekend Getaway!

We went to Grapevine this past weekend which is only about an hour away from our house. It was a nice little getaway! We stayed at the Great Wolf Lodge which is a resort with an indoor waterpark. The kids had a blast!! Of course I didn't get many pics because we were all in the water!

These are the waterslides Ethan went down probably 100 times!! He didn't want me helping him. He kept saying, "I do it myself", "No holding my hand", "No helping me"! Of course mommy didn't listen and was at the bottom of the slide each time to help him if need be! He would get off, go back around, up the stairs, and come down again. He is a little daredevil and started coming down the slide on his belly and backwards! What a mess he is! He was the smallest person doing these slides. He doesn't really know that he is only 2!! Noah did these too but then Daddy took him to the big big slides and we never saw him again! He loved going down the big slides with Daddy! He was just tall enough to get do the big slides with an adult! He would have been crushed if it hadn't worked out for him to do them! So glad it did! We all did the wave pool and lazy river! Which by the way should be called attack river because it is not the peaceful lazy river you may have envisioned! There is one spot where you go under a pier and people are on the pier dumping buckets of water on you!!! Ethan didn't like that!The room we got was a bunk bed suite. So Noah's dream of getting to sleep on the top bunk finally came to pass! But any question I had in my mind of getting bunk beds is now out the window! Within 5 minutes of us getting into the room Ethan fell off the top bunk. Only cried a little and said he was ok. So thank God! Then another time he was climbing up, Noah didn't want him up and pried is little fingers off and Ethan fell again! He didn't cry that time and said only his boo boo hurt. Luckily that was the only 2 bad incidents. They both loved the bunk beds. In fact when we got home Ethan cried because he doesn't have bunk beds here. He was saying where is my new bunk bed? Poor thing!
The only time we left the resort was go grab a bite to eat at the Rainforest Cafe. Then we headed back as soon as we were done for pajama storytime. Noah really loved that. He loves books. Ethan kept trying to sit close to all the little girls there. May have to watch him!! While we were at the Rainforest Cafe we learned Ethan has a fear of Gorilla's!!! They sat us by two of them and he freaked out everytime they started making sounds or moving around! I had to ask the manager to move us as far away from the Gorilla's as possible. There's a phrase I never thought I would say!!! They sat us by the cheetah and the waterfalls. There he was happy!!! So Gorilla bad Cheetah good!!!
Then we checked out an old cabin in Downtown Grapevine before heading back home. Noah said it was so old it was probably built in the 70's!! Hey wait a minute I was born in the 70's!!! Such a great time :)
