Dallas World Aquarium

We took the kids to the Dallas World Aquarium this past Sunday. It was sort of a hey last minute why don't we go decision. And so we did!

It was around an hour from our house. Of course we had to stop and eat...stop for the bathroom...stop for ice cream on the way back. I told Jason I am not sure we could handle an actual road trip!!! We are for sure out of practice!!

We thought with the 100+ temps we have been having this would be a great idea. Obviously so did A LOT of other people. The place was so crowded, hot, and muggy! So much for the nice cold indoor fun I had envisioned!!! Jason & I went to the New Orleans aquarium a few years ago and it was so awesome. So my expectations were high probably too high because I was a little dissapointed in this one! I think it would be better to do stuff with no expectations like the kids!! I said we won't go back but I am sure we will because the kids had so much fun. Besides where else can I take them to see a shark safely behind glass anyway!?!? They loved it! They had a blast seeing all the fish, stingrays, and jellyfish. They were doing so much talking and pointing...so cute!

But by far our favorite part was the shark tank! Which definitely beat out New Orleans! It is a glass tunnel with the sharks swimming all around you. You are sitting on the side and they are coming up right behind you! It is a unique experience being that close to so many different types of sharks.

  1. That shark tank looks really cool! And Ethan surely had a great time with all the pointing he is doing in the pics!

  2. Too cute. Boys and fish. What is it? Brandon is determined to turn all of our kids into fishermen and fisherwomen. I can deal with it as long as I don't have to bait a hook. Thanks for sharing.

  3. The ice cream on the way back sounds appealing to me! Dallas--not so much!
