Happy Thanksgiving Week!

Well as I have said a billion times before I LOVE THE HOLIDAYS!!! So yeah Thanksgiving week is finally here! Our Thanksgiving day will include watching The Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade, Yummy Yummy food, Football (Texas vs. A&M), Traditions (Sunshine Pie!!), and Overeating on all the Yummy Food! But let's make it a little more this year too!

We have sooooooo much to be thankful for but sometimes get too busy to realize. Jason and I are attempting to slow down this week to reflect on all the good things in our lives. Our challenge this week is to push everything aside and just give thanks for our kids, our lives, and all of our blessings! Our kids are growing up so fast and changing quickly. I wonder when they are grown and look back over their childhood if it will bring them great joy. I want to be a great joy to my kids and my husband. The goal is to show our kids a joyous and thankful "Thanksgiving".

Sometimes the holidays can get a little stressful but this year don't let it. Just remember it can also be a time to slow down and reflect on "thanksgiving". The definition of "thanksgiving" is An act of giving thanks; an expression of gratitude, especially to God.

So let us Give Thanks not Complaints!

Psalms 28:7
The LORD is my strength and my shield; my heart trusts in him, and I am helped. My heart leaps for joy and I will give thanks to him in song.

  2. Thanks Stephanie!

The story of Sunshie Pie!!! My mom makes Cornmeal Pie every year for Thanksgiving. It is so goooood! One time she made it and I wouldn't try it because of the name. So a couple days later she made it again and called it Sunshine Pie...I ate it and loved it!!! So now it's a tradition of ours and we renamed the pie :) It taste simliar to a buttermilk pie and looks like a sweet potatoe pie...sort of!

  5. Hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving. We're back home now and can start getting things ready for Christmas, even though we'll be traveling back to MS in a little over 3 weeks. :)
