Determined to Camp!!!

We have been wanting to camp for a few weeks now but have been busy and then one weekend we were planning to go but.... it rained! So, Jason made reservations for Benbrook Lake and we put it on the calendar so it would happen! The excitement set in and the boys began to count down the days! I love to go tent camping but I am only a one night kind of camper (because after that I need a shower!!).  We were all excited!!!

Then Saturday came and we checked the weather forecast....it said...windy! Umm...that might be a problem! We loaded up all of our stuff...

Got to the campsite and it was just beautiful...windy but beautiful...

Thanks to the 25 mph winds the tent went up...the tent came down...repeat...

So, we thought over the situation with a little snack...then decided to check on a campsite far away from the lake. The campground was full though so this was our only choice! It was definitely windier close to the lake so we decided to head back to our house (after 2 hours of the wind not dying down!) for a camp out in the backyard! Determined to camp we packed up (left our already paid campsite) and headed home!

The wind was much better at home! We set up our tent, grilled, played games, told silly stories, then lights out and off to sleep (or actually talking!)! Except the wind had one more evil attack!!! Around 10pm the wind picked up with some very heavy gust! The tent walls were bending down...after several times of that happening I said "OK guys that's it!!! We are sleeping inside tonight but we can come back out in the morning!" So...we went inside and the next morning we went back out for a game of go fish before taking the tent down!!! The camp out didn't go as planned but we still enjoyed our time together as a family :) despite the crazzzzzy Texas wind!
