Vacay to Durango!

I am pretty sure I say this after every vacation we take but, this was the best vacation ever like for real this time!!! LOL! I have wanted to see Colorado since my High School years and let me tell you it did not disappoint!

LOVED this cabin! The boys had plenty of room to go explore! Luckily, we didn't learn about the bears getting into the garbage the night before we got there until the end of our trip! That might have freaked me out - ignorance is bliss!!!

We also learned that Durango doesn't believe in AC, but they don't really need it! It was 80s in the daytime and 55-60x at night. Perfect! However, the fire baked pizza place should totally invest in some AC - just saying!! So we slept every night with the windows rolled out!! I told the boys welcome to 1955!!! But, after a week of sleeping with a fan we slept so good that we decided to buy a fan when we got back!!

I miss my morning coffee on the balcony watching these guys!

Noah and Ethan zip lining while I pray for their safety from the ground!

Jason's turn! Thank God Caleb wasn't old enough for their requirements!! Because he so wanted to go too! My poor momma heart!!!

One of our absolute most favorite things we did was the Alpine Slide! I remember the Apline Slide Jason and I did on our 1st anniversary in Gatliburg. I don't think it was as long as this one but still so much fun!!! I was so excited to take the boys on this one..

We drove up to Silverton and went panning for gold!

We rented a jeep for the day and hit the trails! Oh, and let me tell you about this adventure! We started out on level 2 not to bad! A few little EEK moments but nothing too bad! Then we went to the next trail to the ghost town of Animas Forks and it was another level 2 but a little scarier than the first trail. But, still not too bad...then...

This is where things got scary! We were starting to get concerned about time and trying to find HWY 550 to get the jeep back The map wasn't super detailed but surely this trial will work! Right here I am taking this picture clueless to the trail we are about to embark you! You see the fork at the far end of the road? Yes, we went to the left and that took us to level 3 the rest of the way out! We went to the very top! We had snow outside our window! A sweet ederly couple we had met were following us and they were doing some serious white knuckle driving! I am so glad Jason was freaked out because that would have freaked me out even more! I did a lot of praying on this trail. Luckily, on the top we met a tour guide who said he would lead us out to HWY 550. The trails were so tight like seriously maybe 6 inches pass your tire and then drop off to death. We went through Hurricane Pass to Corkscrew Pass to finally arriving at HWY 550. On corkscrew pass the road got so small that you would turn as far as you could in the curve then back up and finish making the turn!

OH, how we celebrated getting back to HWY 550!!!! Little did we know how dangerous this HWY was!!! The road seemed wide compared to where we just came from!!! Again, ignorance is bliss!!!!

What an amazing and adventurous trip!! The weather was perfect and such a nice break from the Texas heat! Plus, the humidity is non-existent there! So many great memories made!
