We had a wedding to go back for so we turned it into a vacation time too! We drove down and stopped by Cafe Du Monde on the way for beignets....which our kids called been YAYS, been YAYS!!! They were so yummmmmyy!! And the fattening food began...
We went to the Gulfport/Biloxi area. Haven't been there since Katrina hit so it was good to come back and see how things are. It was beautiful and everything that has been rebuilt is gorgeous but there are still several lots for sale. I was surprised somethings weren't built back like Olive Garden, Krispy Kreme, and Outback. So glad they built the Sharkheads back though!
Loved loved loved Shaggy's! We ate beach balls (deep fried mashed potatoes with bacon)! How could you go wrong with that?!
The view from Shaggy's deck!
There are no words for this....
We found a local pizza place that makes everything from scratch....so yummy!
The sauce was ahhhmazing....20 inch pizza!
Day at the beach. The boys dug up shells and filled an entire sand bucket full to bring home! They used their snorkeling equipment to dig under water! We had the best day!! We were the only ones on the beach all day! Talk about seclusion...ahhhhhmazing!
When boys build a sand castle it is more about the protection! They cared more about the moat and keeping the castle safe than the design of the castle itself!

I LOVE this man! I am so thankful for this time away just to reconnect, hang out, laugh, take it slow, and love on each other!
He spoils me...
TMI? I don't care....I LOVE HIM!
The Biloxi Lighthouse
Ethan fell in love with the Waffle House....(there was one next door to the hotel and he kept begging to go so we did!)...Then he asked to go back daily but we didn't because hello there are two in Weatherford even though we never go! We promised to take him when we got back home!
Lightning across the sky walking back from the Waffle House...
Marine Life was destroyed by Katrina and we found out that the 8 dolphins that were living there were moved to Atlantis in the Bahamas. But they do have a new place that is sort of hidden, the IMMS. They actually are only open 1 or 2 times a day for public tours because they are more of a marine life rescue place. But the shows they do offer you get up close and personal The boys touched a snake, a tiger shark, a stingray, and a horseshoe crab! My favorite part was the Dolphins but the boys loved the Sea Lion!
We tried the "best burger in Mississippi" at Mugshots Grill and Bar. They have won every year since 2007. Jason said it is the second best burger on his list! Number 1 spot still goes to Big John's here in Weatherford!! Yes he has a list!!!
Jones Park in Gulfport! How could we not go there????
View from the top of the ferris wheel....
Caught some fireworks on the beach...
Then we drove 3 hours north to my best friends wedding (not the movie!)...
Me and Sandi...
Jason took the pics during the ceremony and I took the pics before and after! It was fun working together and he was amazing...he helped with so much stuff!!!! My sister in law was a lifesaver too and took care of the kids at the wedding!
Sandi and John...
They kissed and his son looked away! My favorite one from the ceremony...
I LOVE this one....
My crew at the wedding...
The day we got home from our trip we took Ethan to the Waffle House here in town just like we had promised and we also took a long a Canadian who had never been before....
...Love this pic and this family...
