Happy 35th!

So, I recently celebrated my 35th birthday! My husband went all out! He knows how much I love celebrating my birthday and he is such a romantic. He did lots of planning and pulled of a birthday I will never forget! I married well!!!

The day before my birthday he surprised me with a babysitter, supper at Gloria's, and tickets to the Lumineers concert at the Verizon theater. Where they sang Ho Hey to me!!! I LOVE this song very much and it is our song! Because I belong to Jason and he belongs to me! OK, I know I am being sappy but I really do love this man! The day of my birthday my mom took me out for lunch at Olive Garden and I was told we were going out with my parents for supper! But...Jason had other plans! He had arranged for my family and friends to show up at my house for a surprise birthday party! They had all met down the road and arrived together. The doorbell rang, I answered expecting to see only my parents, and was instead shocked to see so many people that I love dearly! All here to celebrate with me!! I am so blessed. After the initial shock...my brain went into hostess mode and I began to wonder about food and how I was going to feed these 28 people!!! But Jason had it all planned out and food started pouring in from people's cars!! My dad had cooked on the grill and my mom had made me a very yummy cake! Friends had pitched in, I felt so loved, and was completely overwhelmed with how awesome my hubby is to have planned all this! hmmm poor thing what will he have to do for my 40th to top all of this?!!

Here are a few pics of the night...we missed out getting a pic with all the girls in one but we did get this goody...

Then the day after my birthday we drove to Tishomingo, OK to go to the Pink Pistol (Miranda Lambert's store) in the town she lives in! I LOVED it being the totally stalker obsessed fan of hers that I am! I bought a rhinestone belt and a shirt! Such a great way to celebrate turning 35!

Just for fun: 35 things I've learned in 35 years....

1. God loves me no matter what
2. My husband is the greatest and I am so blessed to be his wife.
3. These kids of ours crack me up on a daily basis. I love them more than I could ever tell them although I do tell them daily!! Actually I tell them to the point they sometimes roll their eyes and say we know!
4. Friends and family are what make life fun, amazing, and worthwhile!
5. Laughter really is the best medicine.
6. You can't take things too seriously.
7. Sometimes life doesn't go as planned and you just have to roll with it!
8. Chocolate really does help!!
9. Exercising really does make me feel better even if I feel like dying while doing it!
10. I am always going to be on some portion control form of a diet the rest of my life because I love food too much and have no will power!!
11. Wrinkles actually do start popping up on your face in your 30s.
12. To my surprise I actually like being in my 30s versus my 20s because I feel so much more comfortable with who I am.
13. Turning 40 really does scare me and I will probably buy a convertible then!!!
14. It is important to surround yourself with people who aren't judging you or criticizing you all the time. Life is better with friends who build you up and not tear you down.
15. My goal in life is to be a fruit loop in a bowl of cheerios! I don't want to be just like everyone else!
16. There is absolutely nothing I can't say to my best friend, Sandi.
17. Serving others produces an amazing feeling!
18. Interest and talents are always changing...don't be afraid to try something new. It's better to have tried and failed than to not have tried at all.
19. I'm so blessed to have parents that love me so much even if that love was sometimes embarrassing in my teenage years! I love them both very much!!
20. I still miss my grandparents. So many great memories were made with them! How I wish they were still here and could meet my kids.
21. Spending time with the ones you love is time well spent.
22. My legs will not tan so I might as well accept them being white and throw on some shorts!
23. Singing always makes me feel better and is usually how I express myself! I LOVE music!
24. I'd say 80% of the time there is a song playing in my mind and that's actually not true for everyone else!
25. I love and take pride in the fact that I am a GRITS (girls raised in the south)! Proud to be a southern girl, southern accent, and have a southern way of life! Really the south is the best region of the US!
26. I love HGTV, Better Homes and Garden Magazine, Southern Living and I love decorating my house!
27. I am looking forward to starting my career as a High School Business Teacher!

33. I love drinking my coffee every morning while watching The Weather Channel and I don't care how old that makes me sound!
