Day 1 of our adventure!!
We ate lunch at a cute little cafe in Townsend, TN then drove on into Gatlinburg and stopped at Cooter's Place! The kids drove go karts! Ethan and Noah drove one that looked like the general lee. Jason and Caleb drove one that was modeled after Boss Hogg's car!! The boys loved it! We played mini golf, took pictures in the general lee and then headed on to the cabin!
The gorgeous cabin!!! I will be using this place again (hopefully!)!
Day 2 - We got up and headed out to Wonder Works - where the kids laid on a bed of nails, climbed a rock wall, made huge bubbles, and played with all things science! They loved it for sure!! We also stopped by Cooter's Place for one more run on the go karts and met Cleetus from the show! We ate lunch at Flapjacks where the kids all picked out black bears to take home! They loved those bears!!! Then we hit up some shops in Downtown Gatlinburg and headed back to the Cabin before the snow came! We played games in the cabin while it snowed outside! For supper we ordered delivery from a Mafia Restaurant and had some of the best pizza I have ever eaten in my life! Now I will be craving it and can't have it!!!
Day 3 - We hit up Ober! We rode the tram up the mountain with intentions on snow tubing but the snow tubing was sold out! So plan b - we all did the ice skating! That was so fun!!! Noah surprised us all by just taking off on the skates - he acted like he had been ice skating his whole life! Ethan, poor thing was all over the place but he did good!!! Caleb struggled the most!!! Silly boy! We made some crazy fun memories for sure! Oh and we made sure to hit up the fudge shop (yes the blue box in the picture is the fudge - yes it's that good)! Every time we go to Ober we get their fudge...it is so yummy!! Jason and I ice skated there for our very first time January of 1999. The kids did their very first ice skating there on this trip - so cool that it was the same place for all of us!! Love Ober! Caleb loved the carousel horse there - think he could have stayed on it all day!!! Then that night we went to the Comedy Barn and the boys laughed their heads off! All the kids went on stage for one song but Noah actually got called up on stage to be in the show!
He was so stinking funny!
Day 4 - We went to Cades Cove before heading home! It is seriously my favorite place and has been every since I went there on our 1st anniversary! It is just so gorgeous and so untouched by man! It is for real beautiful!!! Then we headed back to Mississippi for Christmas with Jason's family before heading back to Teaxas! Here are some pics of Cades Cove...
These are the pics I took with my "real" camera (I brought it just for this place)!!! The boys got up close and personal to several deer! For some reason, my Caleb started barking like a dog at one deer and that's the one running in the photo! We probably saw 20 deer while we were there no joke! They are so use to people they don't run away, well, unless you are barking like a dog!!!
Ready to go back today!!!

I too love the mountains; they are my favorite place. You HAVE to go to Yellowstone and the Grand Tetons. You will pick out your house place, draw up your house plans, and spend the next 11 years asking your husband when you can move there. (I'll let you know when he says yes) Seriously, it's the one place that left me breathless, speechless. The beauty is so remarkable. I can't wait to take the kids.
ReplyDeletehaha you are so right! I would move to the mountains in a heartbeat if the opportunity arose!!! Yellowstone and Grand Tetons just got added to my bucket list!!
