Scariest night. Last night we had family fun movie night and were having a great time together. Then...Caleb flipped his chair over and bust his head open. There was blood everywhere. Seriously the most blood I have seen come from my kids...super scary. We got in the car and drove to the ER. I held him in the front seat with a rag on his head. He was still bleeding when we got there. They took us back and he ended up getting 3 staples in the back of his head. Which by the way is an awful experience. They wrapped him in a sheet like a mummy, and 2 nurses held him down and he screamed momma...I cried too. After they were done he was ok but I was still shaken up. Today, I have been so nervous for him to run around and play. So afraid he his going to fall again and mess it up. So super glad he is OK.
Extremely thankful for all the friends that checked on us, all the text messages/calls of encouragement, prayers, and er visit with supplies. So thankful to have my mom and dad here in town with us. They met us at the ER and my mom took the other two boys home. My dad stayed with us to help calm Caleb down because he is a Paw Paw boy!
I will definitely have a new level of sympathy/understanding when someone tells me their kid has to have stitches/staples. It really is not a fun thing to experience with your child and is very scary. Hope that was my only experience with that...please God!
Keeping Mama on her toes! I guess he had to do something to make his birthday week memorable ;) Glad you all made it through!
ReplyDeleteThat sounds awful. Although I think it's always harder on a Momma than the child. When Reese had his surgery earlier this year, along with all the tests leading up to the surgery, I was much more bothered than Reese.
ReplyDeleteSo happy to hear all is well now. Boys will always keep us gasping!
