Our boys came home so dirty and tired after a day of waterfall seeing, hiking through the woods, leaf collecting, touring a castle, climbing up a mtn, climbing down a rock path to a cave (noahs fav part going inside the cave), climbing across rocky streams (ethans fav part). It was so beautiful and so peaceful...perfect! Ethan grabbed a walking stick when we got there and said mom I am man vs wild now! Also, during our trip they had gotten to the top of mountain on top of a rock wall (scaring me too death!) and yelled out we are "king of the world"!!! Thankful for the lesson that keeping calm and carrying on will produce a great day no matter what obstacles you face!

a little getaway to Turner Falls!
So...Sunday we decided to take a drive and headed north to Oklahoma! It was a little over two hours from our house to Turner Falls. Our journey there was no easy task! The kids did great but we had a flat tire in Ardmore, OK, Jason had a bird poop on his head while changing the tire (prob wishes I would have left that part off!), we had one spilled milk, one spilled milkshake, and 1 kid get choked on a chicken nugget and throw up in the car!!! At the end of the day it was truly a great day! Thanks to the book I am reading Organized Simplicity we had just wrote our family purpose statement. One of the things on our statement was to "keep calm and carry on"!!! I feel like we were tested in this sunday and I am happy to say we passed with flying colors! We truly had a great day despite all the things that came our way to try and steal our joy! Seriously, it was a great day!
