Busy but FUN....Busy Weekend!

Okay, if I'd sat down and said hey Jason do you want to do all the things we did this weekend in advance of us actually doing them....we would have decided no because that was too much stuff to cram into one weekend. But we had no plans for this weekend...and so the planning began hour by hour....until oops all busy!!! It was a lot of fun though and the kids had a blast. Now we just need to crash!
So Saturday at noon the journey begins....we began the day with a soccer game at noon, followed by nap for Ethan, fishing trip for Jason & Noah at Sunshine Lake....While they were fishing I put up the tent. Yes, I did it all by myself and it did not collapse on us!!! GO ME!!! Then when they got back from fishing it was showers and off to church (we go to church on Saturday nights now since our church has grown so much they had to add another service). After church we came home to campout in the backyard! Jason built a fire in the grill and we roasted hot dogs and marshmallows (think its time to invest in a fire pit!). But it really did work well!
We've been wanting to do a trial run with camping out to see how Ethan would do. Our decision.....wow! We went to bed at 10:30pm (which is 2 1/2 hours later that he normally does go to bed!) He was wired...so excited...loved the tent...no sleep in sight! Then he finally dozed off at 11:30pm...woke up again at 1:30am. I decided to go in and put him in his bed, afterall I needed sleep and it wasn't that important to me that we sleep in the tent! So we went in to go to sleep. Ethan got everybody up at 8:30am...what happened to the usual 12-13 hours a night Ethan normally sleeps??? So we had no plans for Sunday thus the planning begin. I said hey Jason do you want to go to the Fort Worth Zoo...He said sure! So off we went!! Notice a theme....hey Jason why don't we! He's probably thinking good grief woman we are not the wonder family and you are not wonder woman!!! Then after the Zoo we went to ride the train at Trinity Park. Why? Because at the zoo I said hey Jason why don't we ride that train instead of the Zoo one. Oops forgot it's a 40 minute ride so that took awhile but Ethan managed to stay awake and loved I mean loved the ride! But both kiddo's passed out on the way home....which is really a big deal for Noah (because he doesn't nap anymore!) Do I know how to wear them (myself and everyone else) out or what? The day ended nicely...my mom called and invited us (plus Lori & her kiddies) over for supper. So a nice family dinner to wrap it all up. Noah and Alexis made cookies, mom cooked, and all the food was very yummy!

But tonight I think we are all going to bed early!!! Well, as early as we can get with soccer practice, supper, baths, etc....

  1. holy crap girl... I'm tired just reading about your weekend! If I do that much stuff in a month I'm toast. :) By the pictures it looks like everyone had a good time though! Should we attempt the park this Thursday after bible study?
